Acclaimed on BBC  Television, Becket`s Blood!  is dedicated to the memory of St Thomas Becket.
It tells of the friction between a king determined on his course of reform, and an Archbishop adamant the church`s power would not be usurped.
`Who will rid me of this turbulent priest?` may not have been
Henry`s exact words, but his outburst still set four knights on their murderous path to Canterbury.
And that path became one of holy pilgrimage even while their own fates, and that of a mortified king, were still being determined. Pilgrims flooded to Kent, evidenced by the many artefacts found along routes that all became known as `The Pilgrims Way`. Medieval crosses, lead ampullae, and icons from across Europe are displayed in this exhibition, which also tells of how it all resulted in that classic of English literature - Geoffrey Chaucer`s Canterbury Tales. And those funny, bawdy, ribald stories would become the stepping stones for another great journey, which you can join by going to
The Dream.
